May 20, 2006, VA. The 2nd Old Dominion Open Boer Goat Show, Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
In the morning there will be a JACKPOT SHOW for children 2 to 19 years of age and parents are more than willing to help them in the ring. Horns are permitted, it would be helpful if they were tipped, but not necessary. JACKPOT has not been determined as of yet. Children can be from any state and do not have to belong to any organization or have animals registered to any organization.
A showmanship award for the children will be judged and given by Editor Andrew Stevens of AMERICAN SMALL FARM MAGAZINE. In the afternoon there will be an open sanctioned ABGA show -- judges will be Anton Ward and Roger McSwain. We are very lucky to have these judges for they take the time to explain what judges look for in animals. Further information will be coming. If you have any questions please contact David and Sheila Carter, 804-445-0092, or 804-445-5969. Only Health Certificates are needed within 30 days of the show. NorthviewGoats.com
